Echols Shines for Business in Central Oklahoma

The State Chamber of Oklahoma is traveling the state, visiting members, and presenting its Business All-Star Awards to legislators who received perfect scores in the 2023 RIED Report.
The Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED) Report, released annually by the State Chamber Research Foundation, scores each state legislator’s individual voting record on bills related to business, industrial development, job creation, and economic growth issues. Each legislator is graded with respect to his or her vote on each bill. This year’s report gave 45 legislators perfect scores for their pro-business growth voting record.

House Majority Leader, Jon Echols, received a perfect score in the 2023 RIED Report. The State Chamber recently visited its valued member, Field Aerospace, where the Republican from Oklahoma City was presented with the award at Field headquarters. Echols said business growth is essential to Oklahoma’s future success and prosperity.

“The State Chamber does a phenomenal job helping businesses in Oklahoma.” Said Rep. Echols. “I’m a small business owner myself. That’s what I do all day, every day, when I’m not at the Capitol. I’m trying to take care of my employees, grow my own business. To be recognized by The State Chamber, the premier business organization in the state of Oklahoma, truly means a great deal.”

“It’s so important for the state to continue to support business overall,” said John B. Taylor, president of Field Aerospace. “It’s a very competitive environment out there. Other states are very competitive. It’s important that we not only attract new companies to the state, but also retain the ones that we have. So knowing that we have somebody like Representative Echols in our corner, means a lot.”

Oklahoma’s business community has relied upon The RIED Report for a quarter century, trusting its evaluation of business, workforce, and economic growth legislation voted on at the State Capitol, as well as its rating of the legislators casting the votes.
