George Shines for Business in Central Oklahoma

The State Chamber of Oklahoma is traveling the state, visiting members, and presenting its Business All-Star Awards to legislators who received perfect scores on the 2024 RIED Report.

The Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED) Report, released annually by the State Chamber Research Foundation, scores each state legislator’s individual voting record on bills related to business, industrial development, job creation, and economic growth issues. Each legislator is graded with respect to his or her vote on each bill. This year’s report gave seven legislators perfect scores for their pro-business growth voting record.

Rep. John George received a perfect score in the 2024 RIED Report. The State Chamber visited its valued member, Tinker Federal Credit Union, where the Republican from Newalla was presented with the award at their Choctaw branch. George said business growth is essential to Oklahoma’s future success and prosperity.

“Growing our economy is important to everyone in this state. We want pro-growth, we want to support our businesses,” said Rep. George. “When we have growth, that means we have a good workforce growth. And if we have a good workforce growth and we have Oklahoma growth, it’s a win-win.”

“Rep. George is a great partner at the State Capitol because he recognizes what a business like TCU needs to thrive,” said Keili McEwen, V.P. Government Affairs, Tinker Federal Credit Union. “He also recognizes how important it is for us to thrive to lend to small businesses in his district. He’s been a great partner of ours. We commend him for winning this great award.”

Oklahoma’s business community has relied upon The RIED Report for a quarter century, trusting its evaluation of business, workforce, and economic growth legislation voted on at the State Capitol, as well as its rating of the legislators casting the votes.
