The 2025 legislative session has seen an alarming influx of job-killing bills. These proposals would deliver a significant blow to Oklahoma’s economy. From creating new costs that drive jobs out-of-state to mandating new regulatory burdens for businesses to comply with, job-killing bills result in less growth for Oklahoma.
Job Killer bills put Oklahoma’s competitiveness at stake. It’s critical to take a stand and defeat bills like these.
Allows the attorney general to bring antitrust actions against not only direct consumers, but also indirect consumers. HB 1415 also effectively extends the statue of limitations by allowing actions in aggregate to be considered as a single accrual. Both these changes increase a business’ risk of litigation.
Creates setback requirements for industrial wind turbines in affected counties. Counties may eliminate, modify, or adopt the setback requirements if put to a vote of county residents creating a patchwork of regulation across the state.
Excess licensing inhibits the ability for some workers to enter into the profession.
Requiring a $15 professional fee for each drug when picking up a prescription, that increases each year, will cause the price of drugs in Oklahoma to become astronomical. Oklahomans will be unable to afford their prescriptions contributing to the poor health outcomes.
Creates a license for short-term medical emergency facilities.
The Insurance Consumers Protection Act creates a private right of action against insurance companies without any regard to the administrative processes in place at the Oklahoma Insurance Department. The private right of action created in this bill makes bad faith a question of fact. Private rights of action expose businesses to increased liability.
Prohibits state contracting with entities that do not provide written verification that they do not discriminate against firearm entities or trade associations
