All policies and metrics point back to increasing Oklahoma’s economic competitiveness and productivity.

GATHER OKLAHOMA COMPETITIVENESS DATA

This involves collecting data on Oklahoma’s competitiveness, sentiment of Oklahoma’s competitiveness from business leaders, and determining where Oklahoma stands among peer states.

The State Chamber Research Foundation contracted with economist associated with the Michael Porter Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School to gather and analyze data, identify industries prime for growth and formulate possible next steps.

CREATE A STRATEGIC GROWTH POLICY PLAN FOR OKLAHOMA

From the data collected, strategically choose what policy solutions can enhance Oklahoma’s key industries and competitiveness.

This Policy Plan will guide what policy solutions The State Chamber Research Foundation and The State Chamber adopt for the annual agenda with consideration of the political landscape at the time.

MEASURE GROWTH

Because the plan is based on concrete data, the measurement of growth is built in. Each year The State Chamber Research Foundation will update the competitiveness data to measure Oklahoma’s progress.

In order to execute the plan, policy, advocacy and politics will all play key roles. For that reason, resources will need to be allocated across The State Chamber network. Advocacy and communications for The State Chamber, will be backed up strong data from The State Chamber Research Foundation and both will be underpinned by making sure Pro-Business candidates get elected to the legislature.

The data report will create a Competitiveness Report to be released in Q1 2025.

The launch of the Strategic Growth Policy Plan will launch at 2025 Annual Meeting in June.
