Dear State Chamber Members:

This next election will set the political direction for Oklahoma for the next decade…and probably longer.  For the first time in recent memory, we will have a new Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, School Superintendent, Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Minority Leaders in both houses of the Legislature.

We have an opportunity that cannot be squandered…an opportunity to create a business environment that will attract new minds, new jobs, new lives and new businesses.

We need to ensure that the laws, regulations and taxes our political leaders create encourage growth rather than restricting entrepreneurship.  In short, Oklahoma businesses must get involved in the political process.

This election cycle, and the 2011 legislative session, may well be one of the most important in Oklahoma’s history.  The State Chamber can be one of the key influences during this pivotal period.  Our strength lies in our organization, in careful long-range planning and implementation, in the scale of fundraising available through our joint effort, and in the political power welded through united action.

I urge you to participate with me in The State Chamber’s efforts.  Together we can make a difference in Oklahoma.
